Awards and Accolades

One of the ways in which Olive producers in Australia can gain insight into quality, is through entering awards. The most prestigious being the Industry led awards (from the Australian Olive Association) and the Melbourne Fine Food Awards.

2016

This was a year of drought for us at Talinga Grove. Low flows through the catchment meant that we had limited capacity to irrigate our olives. However, we still had a hugely successful year in the Grove, winning:

  • Best in Class - Australian Olive Association National Table Olive Competition (Talinga Grove Pendolino Olives)
  • Chef's Choice - Best Olive Oil, SA
  • Gold Medal - Lime Infused Olive Oil, Fleurieu Food Olive Awards
  • Silver Medal - Australian Olive Association National Table Olive Competition (Talinga Grove Kalamata Olives)
  • Silver Medal - Royal Adelaide Show Olive Competition (Talinga Grove Pendolino Olives)

Most EVOO judging is done using cobalt tasting glass to ensure that colour is not a factor in the judging of oils - as it is not a relevant criteria.

Our award history is long - below is a snapshot of previous years...
